The Asia Foundation: Choose a Book, Change a Life

The Asia Foundation’s Books for Asia program puts one million new books and resources into the hands of students, educators, and community leaders each year through the generous contributions of partner publishers and private donors. Books for Asia donations support a wide array of educational programs in 18 countries and help those who do not have access to quality reading material overcome obstacles and better their lives.

Vote for a favorite classic children’s book and the book that gets the most votes will be sent to a fourth grade class in rural Mongolia. These children have limited access to books and especially need English children’s books because English is Mongolia’s official second language. The books have been donated by the Pearson Foundation (the philanthropic arms of Pearson Education and Penguin Books) through their We Give Books initiative.

Here is the voting site:

A donor will contribute $1 for every vote the foundation gets, up to $10,000 !! So not only will this contest send badly needed books to children, it will help fund the programs of The Asia Foundation.
