Are books dead? Will the Kindle, iPad and the popularity of digital content send the published book the way of vinyl records and CDs?
The answers vary depending on whom you ask and few people are as knowledgeable, respected, and in-the-know as SARA NELSON, the former editor-in-chief of Publishers Weekly, who is now Books Director at O, The Oprah Magazine, and a critic for The Daily Beast. Her publishing columns in The New York Post and The New York Observer are legendary, and she’s held positions at Glamour, Self, and Book Publishing Report.
But above all else, Sara is a book lover. Her bestselling book SO MANY BOOKS, SO LITTLE TIME is a memoir of sorts from this self-described “unapologetic readaholic.” So we can hardly wait to hear what Sara has to say about the state of book publishing, her current views on the industry, where she thinks we’re headed, and her roles at O, The Oprah Magazine and The Daily Beast.
Authors, editors, publicists, marketers, agents, publishers, production folks-anyone interested in books and the future of our industry won’t want to miss this program.
NOTE!: To accommodate as many people as possible, we’ll offer a buffet menu of vegetarian and meat hors d’oeuvres in place of a sit down lunch:
* Spinach & feta in phyllo wraps
* Meatball sliders with roasted tomato pesto
* Deep fried truffle mac and cheese
* Smoked wild Alaskan salmon with tarragon crème fraiche potato gaufrettes
* Puff pastry cups with mango and brie
